KBase R&D ARRA Project Archive

History

With funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), a R&D project was carried out in 2009 to support the conceptual design and implementation planning necessary to develop KBase. Completed in September 2010, this effort included a series of community planning workshops and five pilot projects. Together with dialogue collected through an interactive website, these workshops and pilots informed the scientific objectives, software requirements, and design approaches detailed in the September 2010 DOE Systems Biology Knowledgebase Implementation Plan, the final product of the ARRA R&D project.*

The ensuing KBase project was funded by DOE's Biological and Environmental Research Program (BER) in 2011.

For More Information

For more information about the research that was carried out as a part of this KBase ARRA project, contact Robert Cottingham (cottinghamrw@ornl.gov; 865-241-0554). For more information about the current state of the KBase project, visit the KBase website at http://kbase.us/

*This work, which was sponsored by BER in the DOE Office of Science with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) 2009 funding, was performed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). ORNL is managed by UT-Battelle, LLC, for DOE under contract DE-AC05-00OR22725.
